Question 1

What can Emily do?

Accepted Answer

Five things. Ask: any question about Westminster, answered with its sources attached. Brief: a briefing on your issues, written overnight, ready before you are. Draft: letters, consultation responses and position papers, from live data. Track: meetings, commitments and follow-ups, filed against the right person. Alert: the moment someone you track speaks or votes, you know. Everything else in this help centre is one of those five in more detail.

Question 2

How do I get started?

Accepted Answer

Sign up for a free trial, set your sectors and issues of interest in Settings → Clients, then start chatting with Emily. She’ll guide you through the basics and start monitoring Parliament for your topics.

Question 3

Can I try Emily before subscribing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can use the search demo on our homepage without signing up. For the full experience including briefings, stakeholder tracking, and document drafting, start a 7-day free trial.

Question 4

How does the semantic search work?

Accepted Answer

Unlike keyword search, Emily’s semantic search understands the meaning of your query. Ask natural questions like "What has the government said about NHS waiting times?" and Emily will find the most relevant results across all parliamentary data sources.

Question 5

How does Parliament monitoring work?

Accepted Answer

Emily syncs daily with official UK Parliament data sources, including Hansard, the Questions API, and the Bills API. She processes new activity and filters it based on your sectors and issues of interest.

Question 6

Can Emily draft emails and documents?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Just ask Emily to draft a follow-up email, policy summary, position paper, or talking points. She’ll generate a draft you can review, edit, and send.

Question 7

How do I log an engagement?

Accepted Answer

Tell Emily naturally: "I had coffee with Sarah Champion, she’s supportive on the care bill." Emily will parse the details, structure the engagement, identify commitments, and set follow-up reminders.

Question 8

What’s included in the daily briefing?

Accepted Answer

Daily briefings include new parliamentary questions and debates relevant to your sectors, stakeholder activity, upcoming committee sessions, and any commitments or follow-ups due.

Question 9

Can I track specific stakeholders?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Add any MP or Lord to your tracked network. Emily will monitor their parliamentary activity (questions asked, debates spoken in, votes cast, and committee appearances) and include updates in your briefings.

Question 10

What data sources does Emily cover?

Accepted Answer

Emily covers 31 data sources, the list on the data sources page. Scotland is covered in full, including Official Report debates, written questions and bills. Wales is members only: you can look up Members of the Senedd, and Senedd proceedings and bills are not covered. Northern Ireland covers MLAs, and Official Report proceedings are synced when the Assembly is sitting, from 7 September 2026. Debates before that date are not in the record, and NI bills are not covered.

Question 11

Can I export data and reports?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Documents Emily drafts export as PDF or Word.

Question 12

How does billing work?

Accepted Answer

Emily has two plans after a 7-day free trial: Standard £69/month, Professional £149/month. Annual billing saves two months. Small teams are arranged directly, seats on request. Manage your subscription, update payment details, or cancel any time through Settings → Billing.

Question 13

How do credits work?

Accepted Answer

Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance: Standard 200, Professional 700. A quick question costs about 1 credit; deeper research or document drafting costs a few more. Daily briefings and tracked stakeholders don’t use credits. You can see your remaining credits in Settings → Account, and buy a one-off top-up pack there if you ever need more: Emily uses your monthly allowance first, then the pack, and a pack runs down once. It never renews.

Question 14

How do I change my sectors or issues?

Accepted Answer

Go to Settings → Clients and update your tracked sectors and issues. Emily will adjust immediately.

Question 15

Is my data secure?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Emily runs on Supabase with Row Level Security enabled on all tables. Your data is isolated per user and encrypted at rest and in transit. We never sell or share your data.

Question 16

Can I cancel my subscription?

Accepted Answer

Yes, cancel anytime from Settings → Billing. You’ll retain access until the end of your current billing period. No cancellation fees or long-term contracts.

Question 17

How accurate is Emily's data?

Accepted Answer

Every piece of data in Emily comes directly from official UK Parliament and GOV.UK APIs. Emily never fabricates data: all AI-generated summaries and briefings include direct “View Source” links to the original parliamentary record so you can verify every claim. We do not editorialise or add commentary to official records.

Question 18

Is Emily GDPR compliant?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Emily is operated by Sinatra AI Ltd, registered in England & Wales. All personal data is processed in accordance with UK GDPR. We use Supabase with Row Level Security for data isolation, encrypt data at rest and in transit, and never sell or share your data with third parties. Parliamentary data is sourced from publicly available official APIs. You can request data deletion at any time.

Question 19

How is my data protected?

Accepted Answer

Emily uses Supabase with Row Level Security (RLS) enabled on every table, meaning your data is strictly isolated from other users. All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+). We use Sentry for error monitoring with PII stripping enabled, and PostHog analytics respects your cookie consent preferences.

Question 20

Where is my data stored?

Accepted Answer

Your account data and parliamentary records are stored in Supabase (hosted in the EU), with semantic search embeddings held in the same database via pgvector. AI conversations are processed via Google Gemini with no data retention on their side. We do not transfer personal data outside jurisdictions covered by UK adequacy decisions.

Question 21

Can I request data deletion?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Account → Delete Account. Alternatively, email support@emilypolitics.com with a Subject Access Request (SAR) or deletion request and we will process it within 30 days as required by UK GDPR.

Question 22

What security certifications does Emily have?

Accepted Answer

We do not yet hold SOC 2, ISO 27001 or Cyber Essentials certification, and we will not badge this site as if we did. What we do claim: Customer data at rest in Supabase PostgreSQL in AWS eu-west-2 (London); Row Level Security per user on customer tables (cross-user isolation in Postgres); Privileged write functions checked with a definer-grant preflight and pinned in CI; Customer prompts and outputs are not used to train foundation models under the Vertex AI and Anthropic commercial terms we use; Annual dependency audit via Dependabot and npm audit. Full detail is on the Security page.

Question 23

How does Emily keep conflicting clients apart?

Accepted Answer

Within one seat, client patches are isolated in application code at every prompt-assembly surface, pinned by tests/agent/tool-client-isolation.test.ts in required CI. Cross-user access is blocked by Postgres Row Level Security. One client-ownership policy already exists on client_stakeholder_meta. Postgres policies that key rows on the active client are scheduled after launch (NULL-safe: never-switched seats keep their default client). Intentionally shared across clients on the same seat: follow-up reminder email, user-global knowledge-base rows, and NULL briefing pins. Stakeholder tracking is per client from the wave-2 migration (C-16).
